Promo Pic For DTour Band 1985

    Dtour Band with Robbie Boyette

This wasn’t even the real band. lol
Kirk Williams (bassist in sunglasses on the left side of the pic) wasn’t in the band. Neither was the guy on the right side of the pic. And neither was Ron Huff (drummer in the back with sunglasses). And I was never in this band pic either! It was a picture of me superimposed with those guys. Crazy shit.

Now THIS is the real band in the pic above. From left: Keyboardist Henry (can’t remember his last name lol), Bassist Miguel Gonzalez, Guitarist Scotty Migone, Me, and drummer Darren Beets.

Backstage Dressing Room At Shennanigans NightClub Miami Florida

One of my favorite band pictures. This was in the dressing room at Shennanigans nightclub way south in Miami (Homestead). Camera caught the fog and the light just perfect!
From left to right: Bassist Steve Dietrich (known as “Einstein”), guitarist Kirk Richards, me (Robbie Boyette), drummer Steve Forst, and keyboardist vocalist Clay Rigdon.
I have to say that this particular group of people are the closest I ever came to that magic mixture for a live band. It wasn’t that we were great musicians, singers, etc. It was something more. Our individual talents and personalities came together to form a unit that was far greater than the sum of it’s parts.

    Aircrew Band 1981

Here I was in my band Aircrew back in 1981. I’m wearing a checkered coat with long reddish hair. To the far right of the pic is Rob Ruzga (former bassist with Ted Nugent)

I was studying music in college during the day and playing nightclubs in the evening with my band. When this picture was taken I hadn’t turned 20 years old yet. I was 19 years old and living the dream. Had a meeting that year with the President of one of the biggest radio station conglomerates in Florida. They owned nearly every FM AOR station in the state. And they contracted me to play all of their live events. It was very, very cool and we traveled up and down the state playing for huge crowds. The following year they even had us playing a “Rock-N-Roll” cruise ship in the Carribean.
Sadly Rob Ruzga passed away years ago from liver failure. One of the very best bass players and one of the closest friends I had.

    AirCrew Band 1979

    My first pro rock band

We were gonna be rock stars in 1979. I had written a lot of original material, so we did a set of originals and 3 sets of cover music for the rock clubs. I was 17 years old when this pic was taken.
